Carpool, it doesn’t work without you!
I would like to take a moment to reach out to all of our parents and guardians to discuss the importance of carpool. I know getting our children to and from school every day quickly and safely is very important to every family at Ashford Park. This year, we have approximately 150 families participating in carpool every day. Our volunteers work very hard to make sure that in the 30 minutes that carpool runs each morning and afternoon, all 150 families are greeted with a patient, caring smile and a warm hello. I cannot express enough how grateful I am for all of our volunteers.
Unfortunately, there are days when we just don’t have enough people to make carpool go as smoothly or as quickly as it should. I know that not everyone has the time and availability to help with carpool. Parents work and have other responsibilities. However, if you do have time to volunteer, I implore you to please consider signing up. There are approximately 36 weeks in the school year, if each of the 150 families that participate in carpool volunteered to help out, we would each only have to take 1 week a year.
Carpool is fun. It is a nice way to get involved in the school. It is only 30 minutes a day and you would be helping out not only your own children, but also your neighbor’s children and your school. I know we all want Ashford Park to be the best school it possibly can be!
